Who’s behind the camera?

Creating a meaningful relationship with my clients is super important to me. I not only want to be your photographer but I want to be someone you can trust, have fun with, and open up to.

So the story goes...

I am a 33 year old horse girl and wedding photographer. Weddings are a huge part of my life but there are so many other parts that make me, me.

I live with one dog and a cat plus the most amazing man in the world, my husband of 8 years, best friend for 14. We met at Texas Tech University where I got my Bachelors in Fine Art Photography. Wreck 'EM! This is where I fell in love with film photography.

On March 19, 2020 I gave birth to my son, Ross Rolen Fondon. He is the best thing I have ever created. The reason why I do what I do. My light and my soul.

Art has always been the main way I express myself. Overtime I gravitated towards photography. So I decided to make that my major in college. We spent our first year in the program focusing on film. Shooting it, developing our own rolls, and creating prints in the dark room. This tangible process made such a difference in how I saw photography. After graduating I started my own business and unfortunately had to step away from film for a while.
After about 2 years in I knew something was missing, it was film. Soon as I added it back into my process of shooting my work became more elevated. I saw myself in my work and enjoyed what I was creating that much more. I love how film captures colors, skin tone, and light. It brings such authenticity and timelessness to photographs. Film photography is precious, just like the memories I am capturing. My hope is you can see that in my work.

Q & A

Question

Answer

How many weddings have you photographed?

I have photographed 203 weddings in 10 years.

What is your favorite part of photography?

The people I get to meet. I have had the pleasure of working with 203 couples and double that in families. Being apart of their journeys is so special and I take great pride in that.

What is something your clients specifically book you for?

Many of my clients have chosen me cause of my attention to skin tone. It’s so important to me to represent everyone as true to who they are as possible. Especially with biracial couples, getting the right exposure and skin tone is crucial to me.

How long do I have to wait for my photos?

For portrait sessions editing is between 2-3 weeks, wedding photos is 8-13 weeks. During busy season editing will most likely take the full time frame. I always keep my clients updated on when they will be complete and share preview photos.

We’ve never had professional pictures taken… and we don’t know how to pose. Will you help us?

99% of my clients say this to me before their photo session. OF COURSE I will guide you through the whole session! I work in a more candid posed manner. Which means I put you in situations/poses that create candid moments. I want you to feel relaxed and have fun! So move around, laugh, and enjoy the process.

What is your biggest challenge as a photographer?

Not getting too comfortable. You can get into a routine with poses, shooting locations, time of day, subject matter, etc. I am constantly trying to push myself out of my comfort zone so that my work can grow. Evolving is apart of life. Only way to make great art is to grow.
